Fancy Friday- A Passion Redeemed Cast the Characters!

Here we go again with the second book in the Daughter's of Boston series, A Passion Redeemed! If you have read these books then I hope that you agree with my choices of people on the cover of the book. I hope I don't disappoint you guys! I have consulted with Julie Lessman about my choices and we agreed on them except for my choice of Luke McGee which I did a couple weeks ago. If you haven't seen the Casting Characters that I have done in the past  you can find them in my blog archive on the right side of the page.

A Passion Redeemed by Julie Lessman

Graced with physical beauty, though shallow at heart, Charity O'Connor is a woman who knows what she wants. She sets her sights on the cantankerous Mitch Dennehy, editor at the Irish Times, who has unwittingly stolen her heart. And although the sparks are there, Mitch Dennehy refuses to fan the coals of a potential relationship with his ex-fiancee's sister. But Charity has a plan to turn up the heat and she always gets what she wants-- one way or another. Is revenge so sweet after all? Or will Charity get burned?
Full of intense passion, betrayal, and forgiveness, A Passion Redeemed will delight Lessman's fans and draw new ones alike!

Character Descriptions:

Charity O'Connor- Not only is she a beautiful blonde that was endowed with womanly curves well before her older sister, but she has the attitude to fit! Stubborn, naive, and willing to do anything to get what she wants- including deceit. Charity O'Connor is not a girl that I would want to make enemies with.

Mitch Dennehy- A sophisticated mature editor that has the looks of a young heart-breaker, with the 6'+ height and the brawn that any man would be jealous of. But his head is just as thick as him himself if you know what I mean... This editor is just as used to getting his way as the obnoxious Charity.

My Choices:

Julianne Hough

Julianne Hough- Charity? Julianne Hough- Charity?Julianne Hough- Charity?
Okay, so I don't know about any of you, but I think Julianne Hough is gorgeous! If you used to watch Dancing with the Stars, then you probably know who she is. You also probably know who her brother Derek Hough is also. Anyway, if you have read A Passion Redeemed then you know that Charity is not a very likable person. I did NOT like Charity for the longest time, only in the last couple books could I even say that I started to gain respect for her.

If you have seen the new Footloose, then you know that Julianne Hough is very capable of playing a spoiled brat. Her Dad is even a preacher in the movie and she still goes against her upbringing to do whatever she feels like doing. Which is much the same as Charity O'Connor.

Younger Brad Pitt W/Short Hair as Mitch

Brad Pitt- Mitch Short hair Brad Pitt- Good for Mitch Dennehy from A Passion Redeemed A young Brad Pitt as Trip Wiley
The moment I started reading A Passion Redeemed I practically pictured a younger Brad Pitt, obviously with his shorter hair, and when I came across the middle picture I was just like, "DING DING DING!!!" He totally looks like he could be a editor for some kind of newspaper. If you have read the book then you also know the age difference between Mitch and Charity and so that is another reason I think this Brad Pitt would work.

YAY or NAY? Who would you have picked to play these roles? Any other comments?

  1. I pretty much like short-haired Brad Pitt so I guess I could see him as Mitch. The more I look at the pics of Julianne Hough I can see Charity in her. So I think you have a couple of good picks again :)

Salyna definitely has an eye for casting characters!! Now ... if she was just a director of Hallmark movies ... ;)

  4. Hey again Salyna!
Since last week when you posted your actor picks for "A Passion Most Pure" I decided to take a look around and try and see who I would pick for the other books. I think you did a good job with Faith and Collin, but THESE are spot on! I never would have though to Julienne Hough, but I think she makes a FABULOUS Charity. I think Brad Pitt really matches Mitch's description as well, I like him a bit older and more mature, but I think you hit the nail on the head with these two. Plus, I just think they would make a cute pair on screen.
GOOD PICK FRIEND! Loving this series, I can't wait to see your next picks!
    God bless, Sarah

    1. Sarah! Thanks so much for the support girl! I don't know what came over me when I started casting these series, but boy am I glad I did! It was so much fun, and it actually kind of quizzed me on what I could remember from the books: Character descriptions and personality for example. I hope you have as much fun as I did when picking your choices! You should definitely contact Julie on her website when you do, I know she loves all the enthusiasm!

    2. Hey, SARAH ... like I told Julie above ... just WAIT until you see the fabulous montages Salyna did for each book and even for the O'Connor family (which I will be featuring on my Journal Jots blog on my website in the weeks ahead)!! She actually incorporates several celebrity pix for most of the montages, so it's fun to see where her mind took her ... :)

      Hugs,
      Julie

  7. I love Julianne Hough as Charity! Especially the second picture..Wow!! This is my Favorite book-I think Charity is really misunderstood. I personally think that Matthew Mcconaughey would be a great representation for Mitch Dennehy..He's tall, curlyish hair and older than Julianne Hough as well..

    1. Lol, this whole series is one of my favorites. Julie really knows how to make stories come alive. I personally like Brad Pitt better, but Matthew McCaonaughey would be a close second. Wow, I can't believe I didn't even think of him before for the role!
